UOI’s experience in the provision of Takaful products can be traced back to 2002 when they took over the business
of another insurance company. Since then, they recognised that the niche market for Takaful is a growing one and they want to be there in the forefront driving this growth.

UOI has been operating a takaful window for the last 5 years providing a full range of general takaful products. UOI has been working closely with its Syariah Advisory Council in all matters pertaining to its takaful portfolio.

Over the past few years, they have been building the business infrastructure to support the servicing of syariah-compliant products. By working with like-minded partners, we have been able to provide competitive general Takaful products for the local market.

With the recent growth in Islamic Finance globally and, in particular, Takaful and Retakaful business in the Middle East and South East Asia, UOI intends to devote even greater attention to developing this business.
